Men’s Gift Guide

Happy Monday Ya’ll!!  So this is officially my 3rd Gift Guide of the season.  I’m kind of excited about this one, which is odd because I was initially dreading this particular gift guide.  However, my wonderful husband helped me compile all of it!  And my younger millennial brother approved of it all!  Truthfully most of the above items are gifts that I have already bought for Dusko.  Not that I’m saying I’m the BEST gift giver ever….but these are the gifts that he actually uses and loves!  If you were to ask him, he would also tell you that when I asked him about some of these items he said he didn’t “need” them!!  That’s what is also so great, they are definitely not items they actually need but are definitely items they will use!!  One last thing, if you know Dusko, you must know that the first thing he said should be on the gift guide……drumroll…..tickets to a sporting event!!!  Haha  obviously I knew he would say this.  But I wanted gifts that were non-sports related this go round.  Hope you love them!

Cheers!

Lissa

P.S.  Incase you are wondering what I’m getting Dusko this year?!!  Well I can’t tell you because he actually reads this!!!  Haha.  But I’m pretty excited about my gift for him.  If you are interested drop your email below and I’ll send you the info.  It can be our little secret 😉

A Bag for Santa

“Mom, are we pretending it’s Christmas?!?!?”   Lol. This is what Max asked me when I told him he had to put on these Christmas PJ’s and he had a present!  Truth be told, I am NOT a holiday skipper!  Tbh, I LOVE thanksgiving.  A Lot 🦃!  Fun Fact:  Dusko’s Birthday is in November, sometimes it even falls on thanksgiving. But truthfully, we all have so much to be thankful for 🖤 so I really try to appreciate each holiday.  Although, it does appear we are decorated for Christmas it was just a little set up!  I had to do all of this because I couldn’t share the BEST new Christmas Book that everyone needs without feeling the Christmas Vibe.

Drum Roll….the book is called, A Bag for Santa 🎅.  It’s an adorable Christmas book about giving to others and the true spirit of Christmas!  The author, Kendra Esbrook is from a Chicago Suburb and a stay at home mom of 2.  So hurry and get yours today!  Not only will your children have a different understanding of Christmas this year, but supporting another mom is such a good feeling ❤️.  When the book is mailed to you it looks like an actual present!  And, you get A BAG for Santa!  Without giving away the whole book, are you starting to get it?!!  You can shop Kendra’s book HERE!

Also, I have no problems buying Matching Christmas PJ’s early!  Let’s be honest, they will run out of sizes!!  These PJ’s are 50% off through today, so get clicking!!!!

Shop all of our PJ’s HERE!

XOXO,

Lissa, Maxwell, & Emerson

***This book was given to me but all opinions are my own.  It’s the cutest!!!***

Fourth of July Fun!

With Fourth of July only a couple days away, I have been trying to decide what I will make!  I thought I would share some of the fun & festive recipes/drinks I have found and plan to try!  I love a good side and or drink that tastes good and looks super cute/festive.

Last year I made this delicious Boozy Frosé Recipe!!!

It is the best one I have found.  Not only did it taste good, it just made the party more fun!  Especially with this heat we have been having, who doesn’t want an iced treat?!?!?!

This Watermelon FROSÉ looks absolutely delicious too!

And these Adult Capri Sun’s, OMG!!!  If I have time, I am TOTALLY making these.  So much fun in a little bag!

I think I will also make these side dishes because they look SO good!!!!

Blueberry Strawberry Salsa

Blueberry Caprese Salad

And maybe a sweet treat or two!!!

Red, White, & Blue Cheesecake Salad

4th of July Cake in A Jar

What will you be serving up on Independence Day?!?!?!?!  Would love to hear all about it in the comments!

XOXO,

Lissa

My Birthday Gift 🎁

“The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes.”  -Frank Lloyd Wright

Today is my birthday, my 37th Birthday. Gosh that sounds really, really, old to my 12 year old self. But to be honest, I don’t feel old at all!  I truly believe you are only as old as you make yourself. Sure, my life has changed SO much in a short time frame. But I love where my life has brought me and am feeling extra blessed this year.

I have a 1 and a 3 year old that are seemingly healthy, a husband that treats me like a queen(most of the time), an amazing family, and extra special friends. Some I have even known for my lifetime!  It’s so hard to put into words how grateful I am every day ❤. I know some people hate birthdays, they hate getting older. But I’m with Frank, Life definitely gets more beautiful all the time. I can’t wait to see where the next year takes me, and now where it takes my kids. 365 days of what can we do today?!?  The world is literally in our hands.

Over the past 365 days, I have been on the receiving end of many pay it forwards. Or maybe just sheer kindness.  Either way, today I want to pay it forward to all of you for following along, whether you have been here for awhile or only a couple days!  Treat yourself to my favorite TREAT!  #starbucks

Please only get one thing so the wealth can be shared!!  All you have to do is screenshot this barcode and show it to any barista!

One last thing, just for fun, drop me a comment below!

Cheers to many more years!

XOXO,
Lissa

Also, are you curious what was in that super cute burlap package?!?!?  I would be too!!!  One of the BEST balms I’ve ever tried!

Memorial Day Weekend

I absolutely love the holidays….I especially love the holidays where gifts aren’t a thing.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE buying gifts but there is something extra special about getting together with everyone you like the most and just eating/chatting!  Ok, and drinking!!!  Let’s be real.  That’s really the best part.  lol.

Now that I have kids it’s also especially fun to shop for cute outfits for each holiday!  Plus, with Memorial Day, they can also wear their outfits and or accessories for 4th of July and Labor Day!  So better bang for your buck!  If, of course it still fits them….or they don’t RUIN it!  haha.  My friend Kate and I were just discussing this morning how kids always ruin their clothes.  Even when Emme wears a bib, she ends up wearing the food all over her still…….somehow!

The funny thing about these super cute pics of my kids and I wearing our Star Spangled Gear is that my cousin Emma & I had a photo shoot scheduled(sans kids), if you have ever done any kind of photo shoot you can imagine why sans kids is A LOT easier!  But mother nature didn’t like that date we had and kept raining and raining!  So, we met this past tuesday morning WITH Max & Emme.  I am actually super happy it ended up this way.  The kids were great(even through 5 outfit changes) and I obviously planned to have our pics taken together when I realized they would be joining us.  You can shop all of our gear below!  My jeans are on sale for $52 from $88 and my tank is only $12.99!!!

We are headed out to my parents house this weekend for some boating fun, my grandmas 90Th birthday party, and my mother in laws birthday!  What are you up to this weekend?!?!?

Hope you all have a Fun & Safe Holiday weekend!

XOXO,

Lissa

More Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers!

I literally couldn’t resist and had to go shopping for more goodies today at Target to fill the kids easter baskets with. I am a little behind on this since Dusko & I took our trip and the kids both being sick.  I linked almost everything exact to my instagram story and added a couple fun things I didn’t see at the store that I just bought online-(Socks, and a hat that Emme already has)! Everything is from Target so you should definitely be able to get it in time for Easter!

Summer hats-I mean, great basket addition, you will buy them anyways and they are adorbs!

Socks-Kids always need socks

Bubbles/chalk-You always run out and they provide hours of entertainment.  Or in my case, seconds!  Lol, Max sometimes just dumps the bubbles out!

Play food-There is nothing cuter than watching your kids pretend to cook and serve you!  Or each other for that matter and these Antsy pants items are too cute!

Gardening Tools-Just in time for spring, the kids love to do what they see mom & dad doing!

Pool Floaty-If you spend a lot of time in the water, a must!

We don’t really add candy to the kids baskets, just because they are still so young.  But we do of course add fruit snacks!!!

Everything is linked in this fancy widget below!

A little Target Shopping tip: Spend $25 on Baskets, eggs, decor, and more and you get a $5 gift card to use next trip!

Below are some of the other items I had already purchased that I put in a previous post!

Happy Easter Basket Shopping!

XOXO,

Lissa

Fun Easter Decor

I decided to turn my insta stories about Easter decor  into a blog post instead of trying to link everything in my bio!  I have a lot of fun decorating for all of the different holidays. I basically just hit up target, meijer, and any other store I happen to be at and make it my own!

I love how my entryway turned out because this picture I happen to have is from our first Easter(last year) as a family of 4!  It also happens to match!!!  I think I also love that it’s bright & colorful on yet another dreary Midwest day.

My mantel is always a little challenging because when we built our house we actually had them move it to the center of the wall so we could put our tv over it.  Now I find it annoying because I can only fit so much!  Lol  😂 I decided to split up the garland since I have 2 spots I like to hang things.

This is the $5 wreath from target that I think looks adorbs on my full length mirror!

I usually leave this buffet pretty much the same throughout each season and just add a few simple things.  I even left the bunny plates out because Maxwell is already insisting on using them!!!  I mean, that’s actually good because I bought them with no purpose in mind.

All the Easter decor is linked below!  The garland and tree aren’t exact but super close and I might even like them better 🙄.  Happy decorating!!!

XOXO,

Lissa

Holiday Gift Guide

So basically this Gift Guide is my Christmas List!  haha, jk…but for real, I want it ALL!!!!  And GREAT news, everything except 2 items are UNDER $50!!!  And the 2 items that aren’t, I am VERY confident you can get on SALE!

Beautycounter’s Poppy Lip Duo, I mean is this Limited Edition Texas Poppy even a question?!?!?!? For $38 you get a lip sheer and a gloss.  BONUS, they smell like peppermint for the holidays❤️.

Anthropologie’s Updated Gold and White Monogram coffee mug!  I mean, C O F F E E is life?  Right!?!?!?  Hint, hint: If you are invited to my holiday party you just might be receiving one!

This Charlotte Pendant Duo from Stella & Dot is a MUST gift or get (yourself) this Holiday season!  It comes in other colors but I am loving this neutral shade.

Who doesn’t love wine, and a festive glass just adds the cherry on TOP!  I love the mixing of metals and really these scream holiday gathering or New Years Eve, etc!

So, the secrets out on these velvet mules….I already OWN them and LOVE them.  My girl Lauren Conrad designed them for Kohl’s.  They are comfortable and adorable!

Sequin Crossbody:  This Mermaid Sequin pattern is something you will start to see everywhere if you haven’t already!  It is so fun, trendy, dressy, festive, you name it!  I LOVE this not so expensive version from F21.  Being a stay at home mom, I don’t love to spend a lot of money on something that I know I may only use once or twice, so here you go!

Faux Fur:  OMG, Old Navy Style R I G H T here!!!  I used to work for old navy for 10 years, so it will always have a place in my heart.  I mean, don’t count on it for the quality, but for a trendy holiday piece!  YES!!!

Love your MELON: I LOVE to wear hats of all kinds, but especially winter hats, they are so practical!  If you don’t already know, Love your melon gives a beanie to a child with cancer everytime they sell a hat.  Hat’s off to them!  That’s amazing:)

Off the Shoulder Holiday Top: First of all, this top is only $12.99, so you better click this link REAL fast!  Even if you never wear it, who cares?  lol, really you should wear it!  But thanks to H&M for making fashion affordable!

Happy Shopping Friends!  Hoping to keep posting fun gift guides over the next couple of months, so comment below and let me know if you like them!

XOXO,

Lissa
